B U D D H I S M◆ Lecture · Meditation · Q&A ◆
We are delighted to invite you to a lecture on Tibetan Buddhism with teacher Manfred Kessler (Germany), a student of Lama Ole Nydahl. In this lecture we will get acquainted with Buddhism and with Diamond Way methods for discovering the nature of mind. This is a wonderful opportunity to encounter Buddhism, deepen your understanding of the Buddha’s teachings, and ask questions. At the end of the lecture there will be an opportunity to take part in a guided meditation.
The lecture will be given in English with Hebrew translation.
About the Teacher — Manfred Kessler
Manfred Kessler was born in 1969 and grew up in the Black Forest, in southern Germany. He began his spiritual search at the age of 19, and in 1991 met the Danish Buddhist teacher Lama Ole Nydahl. Since then he has practiced Diamond Way Buddhism in the Karma Kagyu tradition.
Manfred had the opportunity to join Lama Ole and his wife Hannah on many journeys around the world. After a few years, Lama Ole asked him to start teaching, and since then he has been invited to teach at Diamond Way Buddhist centers in various countries.
Between 2000 and 2011, Manfred was part of Lama Ole’s personal secretariat team, and for many years was active at an organizational level — among other things, he organized the visits of the 17th Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje, to Europe.
Today Manfred has more than three decades of experience in Buddhist studies. His Buddhist activity is entirely voluntary, alongside his professional and personal life: he has been self-employed since 1993, is a father of three, and lives in Eimenstadt, in southern Germany.
His lectures combine the Buddhist teachings of the Diamond Way with his life experience in the modern Western world, and are delivered in a direct and accessible way.
